Puppy Head Start
A puppy's first few months are considered to be the critical period of their development, where socialization and proper training are important. This program emphasizes the prevention of behavior problems, and encourages the development of a good temperament, teaching basic manners and obedience. You will teach your dog to look to you for cues for the appropriate behaviors. The owner will get specialized counseling on dealing with inappropriate behaviors such as mouthing, nipping, and jumping, and correcting them or redirecting them before they become bigger problems.

Basic Obedience
The dog learns the essential commands that every dog should know, such as sit, stay, down, come, heel, quiet, leave it, give, and more. Also covered are essential skills for the owner such as leash and voice control, body language, timing and delivery of commands and eye contact. All of these are crucial in dog training because dogs understand body language very well. Sessions will also include discussion of problems being encountered by owners and their dogs. It's never too late for basic obedience training for your dog.

Introducing Your Pet to a New Baby
A new baby with all the changes it brings, can confuse and frighten your pet. This consultation is focused on preparing your pet for the new sights, sounds, scents and routines, which your new baby will bring. You will also learn how much and what kind of attention your pet will need in the new situation.

Problem Behavior Consultation
We love our pets, but sometimes unwanted or inappropriate behaviors make it hard for us to live together. We begin with identification, where we gather information about the history and contexts of the problem behavior and if possible, observe it in-person. A diagnosis can then be made, and a treatment plan can be developed. Phone consultation follow-ups are included. Examples of the behaviors addressed are: destructiveness, housebreaking, separation anxiety, phobias, excessive barking and others that may make it difficult for you to live with your pets.

Preventative Training
Prevention is an ideal reason for consultation, before any problems surface. Preventative training is especially appropriate when you bring a new puppy or pet home or introduce a new pet into a household where pets already live. A little prevention can go a long way towards giving you and your pet a long and happy life together.
